DEFENCE PENSION CALCULATOR 11.0

Service Pension - The Service Pension is awarded at 50% of the last drawn emoluments or the average of reckonable emoluments over the last 10 months, whichever yields a higher benefit for the pensioners, with a minimum payment of Rs. 9000 per month. To qualify, Personnel Below Officer Rank must have a minimum service period of 15 years.

Disability Pension - This pension is available for individuals who are invalided out due to disabilities that are attributable to or aggravated by military service. It comprises two components: the Disability Element and the Service Element. The Service Element is equivalent to the retiring pension, calculated as 50% of the last drawn reckonable emoluments. The Disability Element constitutes 30% of the last drawn reckonable emoluments for those with a 100% disability, with reductions applied proportionally for lower levels of disability. No Disability Element will be provided for disabilities assessed at less than 20%. Additionally, in cases other than invalided out instances, a Disability Element may be granted in conjunction with the Service Pension if applicable.

War Injury Pension - The War Injury Element for those with a 100% disability is aligned with the last drawn reckonable emoluments for individuals who are invalided out. In cases of discharge, it is set at 60% of the last drawn reckonable emoluments, with proportionate reductions applied for lesser degrees of disability.

Family Pension - The Family Pension is allocated at 30% of the last drawn reckonable emoluments, ensuring a minimum payment of Rs. 9000 per month in the event of the individual’s natural death.
